Hey! I’m Michael, a designer with an education in communications and rhetoric and a background in marketing and sales.
My path to design was unconventional. After college, I worked in sales and held marketing roles managing campaigns, building presentations, and learning new communication strategies. Along the way, I taught myself design and built a career helping organizations (from universities and nonprofits to financial institutions and chemical manufacturers) tell their story with clarity and impact. My most recent employer was an advertising agency, and in my three years there I was lucky enough to create visual identities and brand systems for local, national, and international clients. As a freelancer, I’ve enjoyed collaborating with clients (and friends) to establish and build brand recognition for their businesses.
When I’m not designing, I’m spending time with my family (ideally outside), climbing walls at my local bouldering gym, or trying to get better at something new.
I’m currently looking for new problems to solve through design and communication, and I’m always open to meaningful collaboration.
